Marshy began his love affair with US garage/soulful house after visiting Hard Times in Leeds in around 94. Listening to this kind of house music changed his style of music instantly and was hooked from then on. Listening to dj's such as MAW, Roger S, Jazz n
Groove, Todd Terry, Farley and Heller, CJ Mackintosh, Joey Negro and the Hard Times residents was a major influence on him from that moment on. Other major influences on were Graeme Park , Alister Whitehead, Danny Rampling and his now famous Love Groove Dance Party on Radio 1.
Marshy has been playing out for the last 9 years and has held 3 residencies in this time at Kube in Wakefield, Suave at Sugarbar in Nottingham and had his own night called Fusion at Gate Bar in Harrogate. He has also held guest slots at Soul Tonic (Mint Club, Leeds), Niteshift (Manchester), Mex Bar (Wakefield), Revolution (Bradford), Retro (Mission, Leeds and Bradford), Tokyo (Huddersfield) and The Retreat (Huddersfield).
Marshy is now established as part of the Hustle team, appearing monthly at Hustlin' @ Blah Bar, Barnsley and the fantastic Hustle parties in Bradford at PM.
Dan’s early days were spent listening to artists ranging from Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac to Depeche Mode and George Benson. Dan developed an ear for how good music should sound. His musical tastes broadened and by the age of fourteen he'd an
impressive record collection of his own.
An early Essential Mix found its way into Dan's hands and his musical focus shifted. House music - the sound, the vibe, it all made sense. He sought out mixes by Danny Rampling and Alistair Whitehead and experienced this new sound, first hand, in a club environment.
His education began with 'Love To Be' at the legendary Music Factory. The Music Factory set the musical trend in Sheffield. Rise and Gatecrasher followed suit and Dan would dance all night by the DJ booth, watching and learning. He bought a pair of Technics 1210's and taught himself to mix. Ten months later he played his first gig and a weekly residency followed. Dan's hobby was shaping up as a career.
His weekly residency put him in touch with movers and shakers within the local scene, and hungry to play bigger rooms with bigger crowds, he began producing promo CD's. Dan continued to raise his profile, securing a residencies at Vodka Revolution and Sheffield's well renowned house night Hustle, he has also had the pleasure of playing a legendary set at Speed Queen. Invites to play at London's Stereo Zoo and Tech Noir followed.
In 2006 while playing for Hustle in Ibiza, a chance meeting with HFM (Ibiza's leading English speaking radio station) offered Dan the opportunity to record a guest-mix to be broadcast monthly. HFM regularly features mixes from high profile DJ's, from Krafty Kuts to Pete Tong. Dan's first mix, 'Reactor', aired on HFM's breaks show in January 2007 .
As a very versatile DJ, Dan is an integral part of the Hustle team and plays every month at the Hustlin’ parties.
Carl Brian joined the Hustle team two years ago after impressing in his set in Ibiza as part of the Hustle Eivissa brand.
After playing a superb blend of Soulful funky house at both Itaca & Café Paradis Carl was added to the nu talent faithful warming up from Sheffield’s most famous of House parties. It was as part of the nu talent that Carl continued to impress and has become a firm favourite at Hustle events.
Since joining the nu talent of Hustle Carl has become a firm fixture within Hustle and in 2007 after impressing at one of Hustle’s parties at The Soviet in Barnsley, he was offered a monthly residency. Things continued to take shape being offered a residency at Leeds’ famous Rehab as part of the Hustle brand for at the Reteo Heaven.
Carl has gone from strength to strength in 2007 and when Hustle launched its sister brand Hustlin in late 2007 he was once again made one a resident DJ. His selection of Soulful Funky House is certainly something not to miss so make sure you catch Carl Brian!!!!
Ben has loads of DJing experience of quality events and clubs including Hustle, Social, Bon Bon Maison
(all Sheffield) , Read the Crowd (London), Sol (Bath & Cardiff), Stereozoo (Sheffield & London) and Tech Noir (Sheffield) to name a few.
His experience, knowledge and diverse styles allows him to adapt to from Soulful, Funky and Deep House through to Electronic ,Tech, Progressive, Electro and elements of Minimal the other end of the spectrum.
His main roots and passion will always stem back to the U.S House scene where you can hear many of his trademark sets incorporate very soulful to deep but funky vocal U.S house and U.S Garage. He has many influences and inspirations such as MAW, Tony Humphries, Joey Negro, Bobby and Steve, Ron Carroll, Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, Trevor Loveys, Dennis Ferrer, Karizma and the Defected label .
The kid’s got talent!
Involved in the UK dance seen for around 9 years now, Joey Fabini is an extremely talented and dedicated House DJ. Having an interest in Dance music from a very early age, he has a diverse taste and knowledge, which is ever present within his performances.
Now a full time DJ, Joey’s route has not, to some, been the normal route of many of todays current DJs. As a DJ, his experiences began through University playing to commercial audiences on a weekly basis. Seen among countless major commercial acts and at venues as large as Nottingham Ice Arena he has gained valuable, if rather unorthodox, experience in reading crowds and understanding how to create an electric atmosphere. Although some may criticise, Joey Fabini does not adhere and believes that DJing is his ultimate passion and all has helped him build a confidence, technical ability and crowd understanding that can be found in very few other DJ’s. Now becoming a much more established DJ, he can be found playing at venues around the UK and Ibiza, creating a very unique energy within his sets.
Over the past four years, Joey has been seen playing in Ibiza at venues by the likes of Es Paradis, Hush, Kanya and a residency at Bar M. Each year keeps bringing more opportunities and in 2007 Joey was given an official residency at Itaca and has seen Hustle Eivissa grow ever larger as he provides the soundtrack for one of Ibiza’s best Soulful House parties.
Continuing to impress the Hustle faithful in Ibiza Joey Fabini was made an official Hustle resident in 2007 and has been seen providing some electric sets at Hustle events. Late 2007 also saw Joey added to the DJ rosta of Hustle’s new sister brand Hustlin. Playing at several venues across the north Joey has become a firm favourite at Hustlin events increasingly proving why he is a DJ to look out for.
2008 look set to be an even bigger year so look out for Joey Fabini .
